Renewable Electricity Generation Increased by 9.8%

According to the figures reported by CleanTechnica, global renewable electricity generation
increased by 9.8% during 2024. In comparison, electricity generation from non-renewable
sources increased by only 1.4% over the same period.
This significant difference shows that renewable energy is expanding much faster than
conventional electricity generation. Renewable sources collectively produced approximately
9,836 terawatt-hours of electricity in 2024, representing around 31.7% of total global electricity
generation.
This means that nearly one-third of the world’s electricity was generated using renewable
resources such as sunlight, wind and water.
